What Is a Meezoy Local Partner? Roles, Rules and Pricing

A Local Partner is a verified person who knows the city and shares it through one activity: Coffee, Food or Shopping. What the role is, what it is not, how pricing works and how to become one.

Every city has people who know it properly. They know which café is worth the detour, which lane in the market sells the real thing, and what to order at a place where the menu is only half the story. Meezoy is built around those people. We call them Local Partners.

This article explains what a Local Partner is, what the role is not, and how the practical parts work: categories, pricing, expenses and how to become one.

A short definition

A Local Partner is a verified person who knows their city and shares it with you through one specific activity, at a public place, for a set number of hours. That is the whole of it.

Local Partners are not employees reading from a script, and they are not professional tour guides leading a group. They are people with real local knowledge who have been verified by Meezoy and approved for the activities they offer.

What a Local Partner is not

Clarity matters here, so it is worth being direct. A Local Partner:

  • Is not booked for anything beyond the activity. A Coffee booking is for coffee, a Food booking is for a meal, and a Shopping booking is for shopping.
  • Does not meet at private locations. Every experience takes place at a public Meezoy Verified Spot.
  • Is not a tour company. There is no group, no fixed route and no script, just one person who knows the area and the activity you booked.
  • Does not take payments or conversations off the app. Everything stays on Meezoy.

These are not fine print. They are the core of the Experience Promise, which applies to every booking, for both people: booked for the activity, and only the activity. Public spots, always. Respect and boundaries, both ways. Payments and conversations stay on Meezoy.

The three categories

Meezoy keeps its focus narrow on purpose. There are three categories, and each Local Partner is approved for each one separately.

Coffee

An hour or more at a café with someone who knows the neighbourhood: where to sit, what to order, and why the place matters. In Hyderabad that can mean anything from Irani chai and Osmania biscuits to a carefully made pour-over. Explore Coffee.

Food

A meal with someone who knows the city's food, from Hyderabadi biryani to Telangana home cooking. Your Local Partner helps you order well and understand what is on the table. Explore Food.

Shopping

Time in the city's markets with someone who knows how to read them, whether that is bangles in Laad Bazaar, Hyderabad pearls or Pochampally ikat. Explore Shopping.

How pricing works

Pricing on Meezoy is per hour, in every category. You choose how long you would like the experience to last, and the price follows from that. There are no bundles to decode and no surprises at the end. You see what you are paying before you book, and the payment for the experience is handled entirely in the Meezoy app.

Who pays for what

Each category has a simple, published rule for expenses, so nobody has to negotiate at the table.

  • Coffee. You cover one basic beverage for your Local Partner, up to ₹300. Your own order is yours.
  • Food. By default, each person pays for their own food. If you would like to cover your Local Partner's meal, you can choose an optional coverage cap of ₹300 or ₹500.
  • Shopping. You pay only for your own shopping. Your Local Partner is there to help you choose, not to be bought for.

Clear rules make for easier experiences. When both people know the arrangement in advance, the hour can be about the city.

Where experiences happen

Every experience takes place at a Meezoy Verified Spot: a public café, restaurant or market where the setting is open and other people are around. Experiences begin and stay in public places. This is one of the simplest parts of the model, and one of the most important.

How Local Partners are verified

Before anyone can accept a booking, they go through the same process. Every Local Partner is:

  • 18 or older.
  • Verified with a government photo ID and a live selfie.
  • Reviewed by the Meezoy team before approval.
  • Approved per category, so approval for Coffee does not carry over to Food or Shopping.

After each experience, both people rate each other, and support is available in the app or at support@meezoy.com. We explain the full process in How Meezoy verifies Local Partners.

How to become a Local Partner

If you know your city well and enjoy sharing it, you may be a good fit. The best Local Partners tend to have a few things in common: real familiarity with their neighbourhoods, an eye for detail, good timekeeping and a genuine interest in showing people what makes a place worth visiting.

To apply, you will need to be 18 or older and complete identity verification with a government photo ID and a live selfie. The Meezoy team then reviews your application, and you are approved for each category you would like to offer. You can start the process on our become a partner page, and our help centre answers common questions along the way.

The knowledge was always there

Most of what makes a city worth knowing has never been written down. It sits with the people who live there: the right order, the right lane, the right hour to arrive. A Local Partner is simply someone who has agreed to share a little of it, in public, for a set time, on clear terms. The idea is not new. The structure around it is.
