How Meezoy Verifies Local Partners: Our Standards

Every experience on Meezoy begins with a simple question: who is this person, and why are they here? We think you should know the answer before you book, not after. This article sets out how we answer it. It is a statement of standards, written plainly, so that both people at the table know exactly what has been checked and what is expected.

A standard, not a slogan

It is easy to describe a platform as trustworthy. It is harder to say precisely what that means. At Meezoy, it means a fixed process that every Local Partner goes through before they can accept a single booking, and a fixed set of commitments that apply to every experience afterwards. Nothing about it is optional, and nothing about it changes depending on how busy we are.

The process has four parts. The commitments are called the Experience Promise. We cover both below.

1. Every Local Partner is 18 or older

This is the first gate, and it has no exceptions. Anyone applying to become a Local Partner must be at least 18 years old. The identity check that follows confirms it.

2. Government photo ID and a live selfie

Every applicant verifies their identity with a government-issued photo ID and a live selfie. The ID establishes who the person is. The live selfie confirms that the person applying is the person on the ID, at the moment they apply, rather than someone using another person's documents or an old photograph.

Both are required. An application without them does not move forward.

3. Reviewed by the Meezoy team

Verification is not left to software alone. Every application is reviewed by the Meezoy team before it is approved. A person on our side looks at it, and a person on our side makes the decision.

We think this matters. The people who are welcomed onto the platform shape what it becomes, and that is a decision we want to make with care.

4. Approved category by category

Meezoy has three categories: Coffee, Food and Shopping. Local Partners are approved for each category separately. Being approved for Coffee does not mean someone is approved for Food or Shopping.

This keeps every profile honest. When you see that a Local Partner is available for a category, it means they have been approved for that category specifically, not just for the platform in general.

The Experience Promise

Verification decides who joins. The Experience Promise sets out how every experience works once they have. It applies equally to users and to Local Partners.

Booked for the activity, and only the activity. Public spots, always. Respect and boundaries, both ways. Payments and conversations stay on Meezoy.

A Coffee booking is for coffee. A Food booking is for a meal. A Shopping booking is for shopping. The activity you book is the whole of the arrangement. Nothing beyond it is expected, offered or implied, by either side.

Public spots, always

Every experience takes place at a public Meezoy Verified Spot. These are open, everyday places: cafés, restaurants and markets where other people are around and the setting is clear. Experiences do not move to private locations.

Respect and boundaries, both ways

Local Partners are people who know their city and have chosen to share it. Users are people who want to see it properly. Both deserve courtesy, punctuality and clear boundaries. The promise runs in both directions, and we hold both sides to it.

Payments and conversations stay on Meezoy

Bookings, payments and chat all stay inside the Meezoy app. This keeps the arrangement clear for both people, keeps a record of what was agreed, and means our team can help if something needs attention. Moving payments or conversations elsewhere steps outside the promise.

Ratings, in both directions

After every experience, both people rate each other. Users rate their Local Partner, and Local Partners rate the user. Two-way ratings keep the standard visible over time and make it clear that respect is expected on both sides of the table, not just one.

What this means when you book

Put together, the standard is simple to describe from the user's side. When you book a Local Partner on Meezoy, you are booking someone who is 18 or older, whose identity has been verified with a government photo ID and a live selfie, whose application has been reviewed by a person on the Meezoy team, and who has been approved for the specific category you chose.

You meet at a public Meezoy Verified Spot. You pay and talk inside the app. You rate each other when the experience ends. And if you have a question at any point, support is a message away.

Your part is just as clear. Arrive when you said you would. Keep to the activity you booked. Treat your Local Partner with the same courtesy you would expect in return, and keep every conversation on Meezoy. The standard works because it asks the same things of everyone.

Why we write it down

Standards that live only inside a company tend to drift. Standards that are written down and published tend to hold, because everyone can see them, including the people who are relying on them. Most of what makes an experience feel right is invisible while it is happening. Writing it down is how we make sure it stays that way.
