Identity Verification & KYC Consent (v1.0)

Last updated: January 31, 2026

1. Overview of KYC Consent

By onboarding as a companion on Meezoy, you consent to undergo identity verification and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks. These processes are essential to ensure the trust and physical safety of everyone in the Meezoy community.

2. What We Collect for Verification

For verification purposes, we collect:

  • A clear copy of a government-issued photo ID (e.g. Passport, Driving License, Voter ID, or masked Aadhaar).
  • A live selfie image to perform biometric/facial matching against your ID card.
  • Basic personal details matching the ID document.

3. Purpose of Processing

Your verification documents are processed strictly to:

  • Confirm you are at least 18 years of age.
  • Verify that the profile photo and details on your account match your legal identity.
  • Prevent fraud, account sharing, or illegal activities on the platform.

4. Security and Aadhaar Masking

We treat identity documents with high security. All documents are transmitted securely and stored in encrypted S3/R2 buckets.

Aadhaar Masking Rule (India): If you upload an Aadhaar card, you must mask/redact the first 8 digits of your Aadhaar number. Only the last 4 digits should be visible. We are not responsible for unmasked Aadhaar submissions.

5. Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to withdraw your consent to KYC verification or request the deletion of your verification documents. To exercise this, please email grievance@meezoy.com.

Note: Withdrawing consent will result in immediate suspension or termination of your companion account, as verified identity is a mandatory prerequisite to offer companion services.
